Greedy Big Banks Put Profit Over People

13 July 2018

Next Wednesday 25 July a community protest will be held outside the Suncorp Inala Plaza branch who have announced their closure next month, much to the dismay of local residents who frequently use the bank.

Federal Member for Oxley Milton Dick MP said this decision was very disappointing, particularly for elderly residents who rely on traditional brick and mortar branches.

“My office has been inundated with calls from Inala residents who are rightfully angry and frustrated by this decision from Suncorp to close the local branch.

“In the second half of last year Suncorp made a profit of almost half a billion dollars ($452 million) with its CEO reported to earning close to $10 million dollars per year.

“With numbers like these, it just goes to show how greedy the banks are by putting profits over people.”

Any local residents seeking to attend the protest are encouraged to call the office of Milton Dick MP on 3879 6440 or email Milton.Dick.MP@aph.gov.au
