As restrictions start to ease, it’s been great to get out and about in the community connecting with
local schools and businesses.

There have been some remarkable community groups and organisations that I’d like to thank who
have gone over and beyond in looking after those vulnerable suffering from effects of the COVID-19
pandemic. I would like to thank the amazing work of Forest Lake Uniting Church and the Anglican
Parish of Inala, it was great to be able to do my small part in donating some supplies for their
amazing food parcel and relief programs. As we celebrated National Volunteers week at the end of
May, I am so thankful to all volunteers in the Oxley electorate that keep the South West Brisbane
Suburbs moving forward.

This has been a challenging time for our early childhood educators and families, especially with the
Governments constant changing of support for childcare and JobKeeper payments. Over the last few
weeks, thanks to Act for Kids – I dropped in to over 10 local childcare centres in our electorate to
drop off some monster crayons for the kids. I will continue to be advocating for JobKeeper payments and support for them as children are the future leaders of Australia and I believe they should rightly be looked after.

I have also been privileged to take online citizen ceremonies, an essential service as a Federal
Member of Parliament that I’m incredible proud to be a part of, these online citizenship ceremonies
have seen families each week now have the chance to become Australian’s.

A huge thank you to all frontline and essential workers, our doctors, teachers, nurses and other
service industries for keeping our community afloat during this time.

This has been a tough time for our community, and I’ve never been prouder to be the member for
Oxley as I’ve seen the community rally together.

Our office has now re-opened to the public, and whilst operating under strict COVID-19 hygiene
practices, myself and the team are here to assist you with any enquiries or questions that you have.
