It has been a tough few months for everyone in Australia, but it is heart-warming to see that we
have pulled through as a community and nation to truly flatten the curve of COVID-19 and begin to
re-open businesses and re-engage the economy.

As restrictions are gradually eased, and we return to life as normal, I encourage everyone to remain
vigilant, continue to socially distance, and don’t take unnecessary risks. We don’t want to risk a
second wave of infections that will put as back into lockdown.

As the outbreak has prevented community events from taking place, I’ve been busy supporting our
electorate in other ways. Our office has received hundreds of enquiries for support with business,
travel, Centrelink and Job Seeker and Job Keeper Programs. We have also partnered with local
businesses to provide coffees for essential workers, and promotion through Facebook in my
segment called ‘Tuesday Check In’ that has reached thousands in our electorate to communicate the
great businesses open during this time.

I would also like to congratulate Charles Strunk on his re-election as the Councillor for Forest Lake
Ward.He has done a fantastic job delivering for our area, and I am proud to work alongside him.

While ANZAC day was very different to what we are used to, I was inspired by not only the turn out
on my street, joining me to light up the dawn, but across the whole electorate. Even though we
could not come together at memorials, it was essential we still recognise the sacrifice of the
Anzac’s, and commemorate those that have served.

I wish all residents the best as we began to transition out of isolation, and I look forward to seeing
you all out and about over the coming months as we recover together.
