TELL ME ABOUT YOUR NBN EXPERIENCE

Milton Dick, the Federal Member for Oxley, is inviting local residents to provide feedback about their experience with the National Broadband Network (NBN) as it begins to roll out in our area.

Some suburbs have seen construction commence on the NBN network. However, these connections will only come from the Turnbull Government’s copper-based Fibre to the Node (FTTN) plan, not Labor’s superior Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) model.

“I’ve been strongly advocating for local residents to have access to quality broadband services, but because of decisions taken by this Government there remains a digital divide in Oxley. Suburbs including Collingwood Park and Camira are currently not scheduled to have access to the NBN until 2018,” Mr Dick said.

“I am very interested to hear the views of our community on this issue. As your local member I will raise any relevant concerns you have about the NBN with the Turnbull Government and NBN Co”.

“In 2013, Labor outlined how by June this year FTTP construction would have commenced or been completed to more than 4.85 million homes and businesses.

“Only Labor understands that real high-speed broadband is essential for jobs, for small businesses, world-class education and health care.

“From areas that are experiencing the Turnbull Government’s flawed FTTN rollout, we know that there have been issues including installation problems, outages and slow speeds. I want to know about your experience with getting connected to NBN and if you’re actually getting the quality services you’re paying for.

“I encourage any residents that may wish to raise an objection, to contact my office on 3879 6440 by email at Milton.Dick.MP@aph.gov.au or on my Facebook page to provide further details about your concerns, so I can continue to effectively advocate on this in Parliament,” Mr Dick said.
