Honouring the Unsung Heroes of Oxley
Across the Oxley Electorate, countless individuals give their time, compassion, and energy to help others, often without ever seeking recognition. They’re the quiet achievers. The volunteers. The neighbours who step up. The people who make Oxley stronger, kinder, and more connected.
And too often, their work goes unnoticed - This year, we’re changing that.
I’m inviting you - our community - to help shine a light on these remarkable individuals by nominating someone you know for an Oxley Hero Award.
Whether they’re volunteers, mentors, carers, organisers, or everyday neighbours who go above and beyond, we want to hear their stories.
Nominations are now open across a range of categories
This category celebrates a young person who has shown incredible initiative, passion, and commitment to a local Oxley cause, inspiring their peers and proving that the next generation is already leading the way.
This award recognises an older adult who continues to share their wisdom, energy, and experience to serve others, demonstrating that the spirit of volunteerism in Oxley only grows stronger with time.
This award goes to a volunteer dedicated to ensuring our community remains a vibrant, welcoming tapestry of cultures.
This award honours a volunteer who showed exceptional courage, resilience, and selflessness during a time of emergency or community hardship, providing vital support when it was needed most.
This category honours a volunteer who has made a significant contribution in conservation, sustainability, or environmental education, working to ensure a greener, healthier Oxley community today and into the future.
This award recognises a volunteer whose tireless dedication and broad impact have strengthened the social fabric of the Oxley electorate, making it a better place for everyone.
We’ll be celebrating all our nominees at a special community event later this year, where we’ll come together to honour the people who make Oxley the wonderful place it is.
So please, take a moment, think of the people who inspire you, and help us recognise the unsung heroes of Oxley.
It only takes a few minutes to nominate, but it could mean the world to someone
